Friend of mine sent me some old pics he'd found recently - taken circa mid 80's. I seem to remember some pics posted of certain 'auld timers' as fresh faced youths but for the life of I cant find the thread. Mike 'ra Ducer definitely posted one as I can recall Mrs Tip being overly impressed. Go and rake out the fotie albums chaps .......... Lower Kinnaird (Tay) - Ash Tree's Pool. Note the natty footwear - cut down from an old pair of Uni Royal studded thigh waders. Pondering the next move - shrimp or worm ? Fir Trees - Lower Kinnaird Thats me on the right before the wise cracks start. A braw fish and happy fisher. Lady Pool - Dunkeld House.

Braw fotie John. The lad on the extreme left has a quality stance - part of, but slightly separate from the main group. Relaxed and quietly confident. Was he the main fish catcher by any chance ?
Assume somebody was actually old enough to drive ?

Love the boots in that first pic Andy, they look like they have been saw'n off a pair of Ocean waders. I take it you got more than 2 haircuts a year at that time ;D

Cracker Bill! Is that what they call stealth fishing? Braw fotie John. The lad on the extreme left has a quality stance - part of, but slightly separate from the main group. Relaxed and quietly confident. Was he the main fish catcher by any chance ? Assume somebody was actually old enough to drive ? Minger Penman always had an odd stance. He probably caught the eel. If your feet could reach the pedals you were old enough to drive at the top of the glen. We must have been 16.

Another pic from the same stable. Murthly Top water mid 80's. From memory, the fish was taken on a floating devon from The Burnmouth. Still got a fine head of hair to this day.

A classic Graham. Who's the wee fella growing out of your top right shoulder ?
Nae fancy 'extreme weather systems' in those days - just good old fashioned waxed cotton - braw.

Bill is probably trying to avoid the assault of midges .... Another method for the same: Of course, side benefits of cooling off outside & in, whilst fishing for these..... Mike
