A fine fish Andy. Here is me in the mid 1980's with my first salmon from the Rora Pool on the North Ugie. ] That brings back a few memories Graham. We used to drive down past the bridge pool and often times it would be being fished so headed for Howe of Rora. Obviously that would sometimes have been the Ritchie brothers 'doon afore us'. Fresh fish you have there, nae posh socks needed doon the Ugie. Malcolm

The Ugie photos bring back many memories as that was my stamping ground in that era. I vaguely remember Arthur Leel and can see that he had an ABU 506 , I still have my one ! The Rora pool was never a favourite of mine however , Howe of Rora or down at Artlaw or Ednie was more my scene. Have not fished the Ugie for 25 years and more , I'll bet its not as it used to be.

I tended to fish the Buthlaw stretch most of the time, also liked the area around about the Stone Mill.

Graham
Meetings, Johnstons,Double Hole ....... its all coming back to me ! Many fruitful hours spent there at the backend. The Horseshoe Bend at Ednie was particularly kind to me .
Do they still get a worthwhile run ?
