It wasn't Harry. From www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=490838&in_page_id=1770&ICO=NEWS&ICL=TOPARTAs of last night there was no suggestion that the Prince had any involvement in the shooting of the rare birds. Anyone found guilty of such an act could be jailed for up to six months. Birds of prey are protected under the 1981 Wildlife and Countryside Act. The maximum penalty for each bird illegally killed is a six-month jail sentence and a £5,000 fine. When news of the killings first emerged last week, insiders at Natural England said they believed a gamekeeper was responsible, trying to protect pheasant and wildfowl from the harriers. A source said: "It is a fair assumption that the shots were fired by a gamekeeper. I can't imagine why anyone else would do it."

When I read the name Harry in the title I presumed you were talking about a recent royal blackmail scandal, one in which foreign press are linking the story to a character called "Harry Potter".
I am sure Harry is innocent of shooting the birds. There are unwritten rules for gamekeepers, they have to do a job but have their hands tied. I have great sympathy for them, especially when people start releasing birds of prey in their area in order to restore numbers prior to the time when they were shot a hundred years ago.

Hello Willie Gunn it always seems to be the assumption that when birds of prey are shot or poisoned that the blame lies with gamekeepers. I know pigeon fanciers who hate loath and detest birds of prey, I have known shepherds who hated the crow family and would endeavor to kill the by poisoning. Along come BoP eats crow bait. Another victim of the evil gamekeepers?

Hello Willie Gunn it always seems to be the assumption that when birds of prey are shot or poisoned that the blame lies with gamekeepers. I was simply pointing out that it was not Prince Harry as was suggested in the original post. The paper suggested that iy was the game keeper, not me.

I've since heard that the birds of prey were shot outside the Royal grounds, on land accessable to the public (unlikely to be patrolled by SAS and police etc) and therefore could be absolutely anyone.
