I'm sorry to disappoint you all who were visulising something akin to the Muckel Spate of 1829 but I think there was some sort of hiccup in Sepa recording equipment. Here are a couple of photos from Ballindalloch this morning which clearly show the water was only 1ft or so higher than it is now at 11.15AM.

the ayr seems to have dropped back a good bit now. looks like it will be early bed and an early rise for a few hours fishing before work.

Just been reading about the threat of more flooding everywhere but here. The only fish getting taken around here are in the Gaynahine sea pool and the bottom couple of pools in the Grimersta River. Apparently the fish at Grimersta cannot run past the Kelt Pool!!

Quite incredible the drought over on the islands. Was the Garynahine River DM was walking along?

Yes, that was Donnie Whiteford walking down the run into the seapool at Garynahine. At least his casting arm is getting a rest and his reel a chance to cool down.

Looks like a fair bit of water for most parts today. Both Angus Esk's are experiencing a decent spate at present with more rain forecast - should be interesting to see what comes off next week.

That's another dose of rain last night with some rivers benefitting. Must be playing havoc with the tattie lifting.

T . Must be playing havoc with the tattie lifting. Oh very posh I would have thought tattie howking was a description you would have used!

In the dark depth's of rural Angus and parts of The Mearns you 'lift' (or luft in the vernacular) tatties. Lufted tatties once as a loon - never again.

Apparently the Kirriemuir area is due a dump mid morning on Thursday. Southie still looks a bit high at present - Northie looking better.

Apparently the Kirriemuir area is due a dump mid morning on Thursday. Southie still looks a bit high at present - Northie looking better. Believe it or not Andy, Kirrie is in the Tay's catchment area! The Gairie burn flows into the Dean which then joins the Isla. If it's raining in Kirrie however, it will be raining in the Glens which do feed the Southie.
