ok its a shakespeare oracle 13ft #9 the river irvine and most of the south west rivers aboot £100 is my limit and i have had a lesson but still fairly new to spey casting I suggest the following short head spey lines to be easier to handle and cover the rivers you sugeest with ease. www.fishingmegastore.com/airflo-quick-spey~6116.htmlwww.fishtec.co.uk/buy.cfm/fly-lines/snowbee-1d-spey-lines-(51ft-head)/40/no/46561www.fishtec.co.uk/buy.cfm/fly-lines/airflo-delta-spey-and-multi-tip-lines/40/yes/55234The above are all shortish spey lines and should serve you well, although I have no experience myself on that rod of yours. Dont go for the sinking versions and instead go for the floating which you will be able to handle easier, then perhaps a sink tip to suit the conditions if you feel you wish to get down a little. There are some nice spey kits out there that come complete with their own tips, and of course the line is made to suit these, so should cast and handle better than sticking on a sinktip to a full spey line. If in doubt take a trip to Glasgow Angling Centre who will give you some good advice on the best line to suit the rod and you. Let us know how you get on!

I would recommend investigating the Eoin Fairgrieve UltraSpey line system from Airflo and if slightly inexperienced when using the sinking tip belly, just make sure you roll the line to the surface before moving into the cast. You will benefit from 5p change from the £100 budget, but the system should stand you in good stead with options. TC
