I see a lot of the photos are back. I wonder what that's all about ? I can see my avatar and have just gone into an old thread and, sure enough, the pics are there !! ?? PB certainly haven't sent me any emails for quite some time so none the wiser. Lets it hope it remains as is - time will tell.

Deep joy ! - managed to post 2 pics from my computer via PB surprisingly easily. Didnt have to do anything other than click 'upload' and ignore all 'prompts' to sign-up for $. Excellent. Well spotted chaps.

I think in truth they have only backtracked because they were feeling the pinch from a loss of commercial advertising revenue as advertisers would not pay to post adverts when nobody was really looking at the site anymore. I also suspect this will not be the end of the matter. With this in mind perhaps a good idea to start to try to migrate all of your photo's somewhere that appears a bit more normal. I personally have been paying a subscription to Photobucket from before they put their 'demanding money with menaces' policy in place. My main reason was that when I was trying to post photo's things started going so slow while they dragged advert after advert across my screen that it became unworkable for me. I have had call to contact them on a couple of occasions during my subscribed period and to say that they are amateurish would be offensive to amateurs. They are bloody awful to deal with.

Hey Tenet, yes it does work for you and very well too it seems. Is the site full of daft adverts all over the place in the same way that Photobucket is if you don't pay a subscription? Love the fly by the way

No adverts as far as I can tell. Unlike pb you upload from your pc or tablet rather than storing your pics with them. Well worth a try.
Thanks for the compliment on my Black Doctor variant.

Since when did the "Proudly Hosted On Photobucket" stickers appear ?? And why not over all pics ? Totally spoils the aesthetics.

Just found it. Barstewards. "Photobucket hosts over 30 million images for free every day! In order to keep our basic hosting services absolutely free for all members, we overlay a “proudly hosted on Photobucket” watermark on all images that are displayed by our free members on sites other than photobucket.com. By watermarking images, we are able to reduce our brand marketing expenses to offset our bandwidth costs. Everyone wins! If you prefer your images to remain watermark-free, we invite you to upgrade to one of our affordable plans that includes enhanced hosting services starting at $4.03/month (billed annually). Is just me - or what ?
My computer is now telling me that PB is "Not Secure" and wont allow me to download - message comes up on the address bar in red. I can log-in, choose images, click on images - but the images don't 'open'.
WTF ?

I can log-in, choose images, click on images - but the images don't 'open'. WTF ? They are really piss poorly run. The fact that their Website is not secure means that in using their service we are all open to picking up viruses and spyware. All I can suggest is that you keep a really close eye on what you upload and download with them. As regards the security thing on your own computer you could reduce your security but that is risky.

We have just booked in for next year. A few of us and my crazy assed mutt. Oh yes and Eden's coming with us too. The crazy assed mutt is from Wales and called Gravel. He asked me to send you his very best regards.

Well, they got back to me and suggested a few things to try out - none of which worked. They asked that I send them a 'screen-shot' which I did. Dont know what information they were able to glean from the screenshot but see the reply below. Looks like it will resolve itself once their new site is "https compliant" (meh erse). Might have a look at Tenet's 'postimages' site. I'll get back to PB now and try to find out when this 'new' site might appear. Hi Andy, I understand your concern. The "Not Secure" message you are seeing in your browser window is due to the fact that not all aspects of Photobucket at running at HTTPS at the present moment. Please be assured that Photobucket does not capture or store any of your information. We leverage a secure gateway that is tokenized and loaded via a secure connection in the background. Additionally this is only temporary as we are close to releasing the new Photobucket site which will be https compliant. Kind Regards, ________________________________________ Moss@Photobucket Support Have a question about something else? Our help site is packed with articles to get the help you need quickly.
