A good web site. www.nfc-online.com/Click on downloads, some good video clips of the river and fish being landed/lost. I have seen this site before and must admit that one of my friends in Aberdeen goes to NFC beats almost every year but I must congratulate them on the new stuff added this year. Excellent fish pics and the downloadable fishing videos are pretty neat. salmo

From what I've seen of the Gaula, it looks like my idea of the perfect salmon river - dramatic mountain scenery, fast flowing pools and the chance of a big fish.
The only thing that puts me off going is that I gather the fish are fairly few and far between. I remember a Matt Hayes programme about the Gaula, he didn't get a pull all week.

That may be changing since he married the daughter of a prime Gaula beat owner! He even gets a feature in the new Guideline Summer on Gaula DVD (got it last week - very enjoyable!). He's also a very regular face on the Tywi chasing sewin. I think he has seen the light (or at least a few dawns)!

I heard there were 46 caught on opening day including one of 22.5KGS! I am pleased to report the Norwegians are taking catch and release seriously this year, one was returned.
