It's the Dee for me, as it's my local river. Already have some fishing booked for Feb/March and April....Looking forward to casting a line again.
However I would like to try a day or two on other rivers, such as the Spey and Deveron.

I'd love an early day on the Tay with hopefully the chance of that first elusive springer

Hopefully the Helmsdale on 11th and 12th January. After that I have to wait until April for the opening of the Brora (town water)

It depends on when I get a chance to go but normally River Dee for me. Park if I can get on. Otherwise Upper Drum, Invery.
Tight lines all in 2008

Rivertest,
You are a long way from the river test.
The Dee is favourite to many of our members. The beats you mention are well known. I enjoy fishing at Park but the atmosphere is very regimented. They seem to cram a lot of fishers in a small space with pegged beats etc. I fished there for a few years on a syndicate rod but I did not enjoy the fishing as much as in the Aboyne area where the pools are much nicer for fly fishing in my view.

Probably going to wet my first fly on the Usk, but only if I don't get my lesson first from someone based on the Wye.
