Gentlemen - with threads such as "Name The River" going down a ton, might it be an idea to duplicate the portfolio of photographs we now have of these rivers into the "UK and Eire Rivers" board, either within any of the rivers already listed there or creating a new river (or beat) thread where appropriate ...... its just that it looks kinda 'thin' in places just now and should be one of our strongest visual / textual 'resources' IMO. If you already have it in Photbucket (I assume) it shouldn't be too time consuming. Just an idea STip

A good suggestion, ST. I find the Name the River type of post very interesting. They give me tanatalising glimpses of unfamiliar rivers and often trigger an immediate map and Google search for information on which to base a possible future fishing trip.
I also think the river resource section is potentially very valuable and I would have no objection to the photographs which I have posted, and may post in future, being used in the river resource section, with one proviso, as follows. I would want the image url, as originally posted by me, to remain unchanged. All my own images, for example, are stored on my own websites. Others may use websites like Photobucket to store their images. The copyright on all photographs posted here on the forum is retained by the owner of the photograph, and not by the forum. It should be noted, therefore, that the permission of the original poster would be needed before an image could be copied and stored or published on another website. I, for example, would not want my images to be copied from their current location, i.e. on my websites, and stored in A.N. Other's Photobucket album, for uses of which I may not approve.

Thanks for that John. Your first paragraph about sums it up IMO. Regrading issues such as copyright and url changes I feel certain that you simply do what you need to in order to retain the 'security' of your images and take it as read that 'the forum' will respect any conditions without reservation and look forward with anticipation to your, and others, photographic contributions to the "rivers" board. Feel free to reply via this thread or PM to any of the 'advisory board' should you need to or you feel I /we can be of further help or need clarification - otherwise, lets get em on !! (especially some of these wonderful wee Sutherland and Wester Ross rivers you have posted). As a slight aside and for general info, when I mentioned the word "duplication" in my previous posts I didn't necessarily mean lifting the various "Name The River" threads in their entirety - really just the pics in order to build up a visual reference for as many rivers (and beats !!) as possible. Of course, if any posters want to copy over any relevant text from the "Name The ...." to the "Rivers" threads - fine !. Like I say gentlemen, its just to build up, arguably, one of the most INFORMATIVE boards fora such as these should have ..... say I !! Regards and thanks to all in anticipation ..... Stip
