Hello To all of you ;D My name is Geoff and I am from St. Helens Merseyside. Come Good Friday this year I will be fishing the River Lune at Tebay. Just wanted to introduce myself and pass the time of day. I look forward to learning a lot and all of you and maybe even teaching a bit to at least a few of you - the teaching part however is very unlikely as I know very little Damn it all however if I am not really, really keen

Welcome Geoff,
I remember reading many articles written by Arthur Oglesby on the Lune in it's heyday. Let's hope the salmon return in the future.

Welcome Geoff, I remember reading many articles written by Arthur Oglesby on the Lune in it's heyday. Let's hope the salmon return in the future. I was told that 13000 fish ran last year. I don't know how credible this is but I certainly find it interesting.

Hi Spaterunner. Fished the Lune today at Kirkby Lonsdale. The river was 3"ASL, and gin clear. Had a reasonable trout on a size 14 snipe and purple, but not a lot about. Tight lines for Friday, let me know how you get on. Regards Lunesman

Sounds like a result to me ;D. I actually went over to Tebay yesterday with my missus. It was my 3rd wedding anniversary and we went for a drive. The next thing she knew was "Oh look we have arrived at the River Lune, best we get out and have a walk along it . It was looking absolutely beautiful. I am raring to go back on Friday and will post you a result. Regards Geoff P.S. If you fancy a pop on the Tebay stretch anytime this year let me know as I think they allow me to take guests.

I went and fished for browns as there are no salmon running yet. Did a whole day and caught nothing. This probably sounds very corny but I really didn't care. I had a fantastic day and really enjoyed myself. The most activity came when a Shetland Pony came along and took quite a fancy to my landing net which was deposited on the bank. It then went on to try and eat the net. I really must remember on my next time up there to take some carrots with me

Hi spaterunner used to fish those waters about 2 yrs ago mainly for sea trout some nice brownies in there two.I agree with you some very nice pools & rapids I mainly fished down stream from the bridge just off from the main road where you can watch the salmon jumping up the falls.Theres some challenging parts, rough terrain but plenty of wild life to enjoy. Goodluck & tight lines.
