How's it looking on Speyside folks? I'll be at Brae next week and was wondering how much snow there is (and how far down the valley it's lying) to melt should the temperature rise - the Met Office is forecasting 7c for Monday. It seems wherever I show my face the River Gods always have something nasty in store weather-wise, so I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise to anyone else who's fishing in Scotland next week Thought we'd fooled them this year because we usually go in mid-March. However, at least it might keep the paddlers in the gift shops and off the water!

Tyne Angler seems to suffer from a similar problem, almost every time he visits the Spey, there is some extreme meteorological event. He is also there next week. Just hear from Jock that the Spey is currently rising at Aberlour, hopefully the low lying snow will have shifted by the beginning of next week and the water levels dropping.

I think it is just having the word 'Tyne' in your user name that is the culprit Graham!

We're right up the creek then because I was born in Newcastle! Both of us on the river in the same week is going to be bad ju-ju Tight lines to you Andrew.

No, not paying attention - as usual! You should be pretty safe by late April, so tight lines anyway.

The N Wales coast was lashed by big waves yesterday. These are some photos of the promenade in Colwyn Bay. A sea wall further up the coast was breeched.

Guess I had better take some extra wine in case levels stop play! Take your boiler suit and tools the gutters are off again. Dave, you should never have shown such skill with the flat-pack shelves. You're lucky he didn't get you to build the extension.

Whats the odds on the gutters being off before the year is out? Pretty short, already had the avalanches but the gutters are ok. Had to shift a couple of feet of snow to find Duffer's bowl. I have a new ploy, cunning plan, ..............remove the gutters now to save them breaking off.
