What are the rivers you have always wanted to fish for salmon but have never quite got round to?
For me it would have to be the Dee. Everytime I see photo's and hear stories of its wonderful pools it makes me more determined to give it a go, some thing which will hopefully be accomplished next spring.

I have fished most of the east coast rivers, so would like to try some of the northern rivers such as the Helmsdale or Naver. Also the Awe on the west coast.

Like Graham, I am an east coaster and have fished most of the 'major' (and not so major) rivers and their tributaries. On my personal "must do" list is the NW stuff. During my misspent youth I have to admit to having poached the occasional fish from various West Sutherland spate rivers. Now that I am fast approaching the 'late summer' of my piscatorial prowess I would like to revisit, legitimately, scenes of various 'triumphs' over the years - a bit like the TV show "My Name Is Earl" ....... where Earl addresses a long list of personal 'wrong doings' in order to restore his Karma. Listed rivers (although I must stress that I have only removed fish from an un-named few) would include the Laxford , Inver, Kirkaig, Garvie, Little Gruinard, Ewe, Oscaig, Broom and Dundonnel. Going further north the rivers Forss, Halladale, Naver, Borgie, Hope and Dionard would also be on the list .........one day

At over £1000 for a weekly rod in July, without accommodation, I felt the "legitimate" option was prohibitively expensive.

The Alta would have to be top of my wish list, though to say I'd 'never quite got round' to fishing it would be stretching things somewhat! I fear it will have to remain a dream.
Within the range of the possible, the Dee is probably top of my 'to do' list too - the only one of the 'big four' Scottish rivers I've not yet fished.

I've done the Tay and Spey so far this year, even got a couple of fish off the Tay , Tweed is booked for November. I hope to fish on the Dee next year and will also try to get on N&S Esks. I would love to fish in Canada, followed by Norway then Russia, all just a dream for me too at the moment but one day......

A few years ago, I never heard of the gaula, and thanks to ole silversalar, and his contact in sweden I was fishing on it last year along with williegunn, who joined up with us and I hope to return again maybe next year, again with silversalar and maybe this time the weather, and the fish will be in our favour, my point is that sometimes, just sometimes dreams do come true, hope yours does to charlieH

I'd settle for relocation to Salmond land, or more in keeping with the spirit of this thread a predictably unimaginative trip to the Kola. Steve

The Spey is crying out to me! So too the Thurso, Helmsdale and Naver.
Opening day on the Helmsdale appeals to the masochist within. Anyone fancy it too?

Lochy, Helmsdale and Dee, any many more Scottish rivers to cross off my list.
If I ever get around to that dream trip abroad, then Russia, Alaska or Norway for salmon, or Patagonia for sea trout.
Bonefish and Tarpon in the Carribean would be nice as well. ;D

The Dee and the Spey are on the very top of my to do list, although I have fished the Spey once before only, there is much of it I would love to explore.
The nearest I fished to the Dee was it's small tributary, the Feugh - only for trout & seatrout (quite successfully I may add).
Further afield, it would be the Ness, the Beauly & Thurso.
So much to do, & so little fishing time!

Like many others I would love to try the Naver, Lochy, Spey, Ness and from the cracking recently posted pictures, definately the Dee. With these 5, I'd be more than happy Clydebuilt

Give me free rein on the Silvery Tweed, any season, any beat, fly only would keep any fisher happy for a lifetime. ;D Would fairly save on the carbon footprint so it would.
