Clear waters flow yet still rising and falling dependent on heavenly precipitation - touching your very soul again Early dew grips the kernel swelled to ripeness, bowed after the breeze flowing towards a fruitful bounty The glint of metal chariots carrying the selected weapons, secure and readied to do battle with Salar Lightly coiled upon the drum silent refinement of line, balanced to graphite draws eyes to the fly Poised sharpness dressed for translucence of light playing with fickle colours swept together with leaders to tense Rocks worn smoothe with time passing waters ripple by deceptive in gentility and grace our wonderful world Plying the water, sweeping across known lies and unknown depths in anticipation cannot be imagined - be there!! The draw of line, gently at first, then explodes the power play graphite creaking into test mode Boil and sparkle, water alive kicking for freedom above sun-dappled boulders clearly defined task at hand Sufficiently exhausted, resting in shallows water world but moments away, briefest exposure but who's looking at who? Full glory of nature's wonder scanning the route home, seconds to go returned to the upstream journey Light playing, reminiscent glow fading fast over the horizon, but ominous warning of the morrow to come Mike

Moonlight playing over swirling water dappled reflections bouncing off an unseen world but light enough - so fish!! Breaking the fast is natural healthy balance of foods - excludes the coffee! A man's gotta eat -- No?? Shroud of darkness giving way to morning embers breaking through fluffy reminders over the newly awakening stream Stout of body shortly applied armed to the rear, attractors to head translucence comes alive in water The cast snakes over lies potentially occupied; streaming colours of passing fly raise leviathons from the deep Tempted by the flowing fibres now temporarily restrained to allow awesome appreciation of nature's wild silvery magnificence Guiltily gazing upon the morsel of feathers & fur, sharpness its downfall moments later returned to migrate Nature's change merciless in appearance fills the morning sky with darkness above ready to burst forth momentarily Not dissuaded by heavenly threats the task at hand clearly defined; wet above and below broken surfaces Mist merging with cloud almost unbroken over calming liquid, the Salar terrain promising to defy any forecast Giving way to broken clouds blue breaking through to restore the calm - another day on the river Gently treading between vibrant stamens almost dancing; taking nectar and passive pollen reflecting nature's balance and bounty Mike

An impressive set of falls there Mike. Is that the upstream limit to salmon migration on the river or are they passable?

No Graham, these falls of Eggan are not the 'stopper' on the Gaula, indeed, I have some video (yet to be uploaded - when I've figured it out) of fish attempting these falls, although the flow shown in the current pics is a bit fierce for much successes. These falls (Eidet) are the real stopper - salmon can't get up these, as they are over 20' without steps. I've heard of a rainbow, and recently a 'fogbow'....could this be a 'fallsbow'?? Mike

I like all of your flies but I like the simplicity of this one and the PB has a nice translucent look to it. Is there an SBS amongst the archive by any chance ;D salmo
