I was in the Glasgow Angling Centre on Sunday and I always park as far away or as safely as possible to safeguard my car from getting hit by doors etc.
On exiting, I looked over and could see this black Volvo 4WD thing parked tight up against mine. I hate this and there is no need for this, so on inspection of my front door noticed that their back door had hit my door. Resulting in damage to the paintwork, small I may add, but its the princible.
On remonstrating with the owners, they said it was the kids who were in the back that did the damage - Doh!! I said they were responsible etc etc, and well done for being the first to damage my car. Then she said it was the design of their back door, with the sharp corner
This is what we are all up against with people who think its: 1. the kids fault 2. the designers of the back door.
I can't believe the mentality of some folk at times, really can't and in fact I am beginning to think my cars magnetic, as no matter where I park, some low life parks right up close to me.
Anyone else have this problem with parkers?

I know how you feel Kenny, its annoying. I was sitting in the car at Tesco last week when someone parked along side me then opened there door against mine. Fortunatlely there was no damage done though I am sure that drivers ears are pupil ringing. I hope this careless driver is going to say for the damage to your car.

I was the same with my last car, no matter how far away i parked there was always someone who would park as close as possible. It used to drive me crazy.
Amazingly for the three years i owned the car i managed to avoid any car park dings.
I recently replaced my car with an old Suzuki Jimny. I bought it purely for fishing, shooting and driving to work. My previous car was getting abused from going through fields, rough single track roads etc. Its great to now own a car that i can park anywhere without worrying about careless people denting it.
The angling centre really is a nightmare as there are no spaces that you can gaurantee that nobody willl end up tight against you.
I used to park over two spaces at supermarkets etc with my previous car but you have to be careful as it tends to upset people.
It really is frustrating that you cant own a car without worrying about the scum of the earth damaging it.

You should have been bloody minded and got the police involved and wiped the smile off there faces.
You have tried parking as far away as possible next time try to find a space between 2 shinny new motors and hope your back out before them.
If that fails just wait a few more years and get your bus pass ;D ;D

Totally sympathise with you here Kenny - my wife always complains about the distance I park from the shops but having been done in the past, I take no chances - luckily now there are large parent and child spaces but these are snapped up pretty quick sometimes and aren't always available. I used to find someone always parked next to me even though I tried to find the remotest parking spot? ?? Ross.

Kenny,
Carry a nice red lipstick, and leave a message written on their windscreen, being oil based it's terribly difficult to remove. Just watch it on paint, it nips the laquer.
I always wonder why people need car to park next to, when you have gone to the effort of parking a distance away. Can they not park without a car to squeeze up to.
I've got some cracking door scratches on the car, I only took delivery of it 6 days ago.

Very annoying when you have a nice shiny new car. I googled "Ben Hur Chariot wheels", and this came up: Ideal for getting your own back on bad parkers! ;D

Was it raining at the time Kenny. I have noticed these things happen so often on a rising water..
In jest of course, our neighbour's horses still have their dental prints on our Swedish car...
