Ok, name the river, if you can the location and name the burn that runs in from left after which the pool is named. For a gold star guess the fisher, not me but a fairly well known chap. To be top gun rated say where the salmon took the fly !

Looks a little like the Meetings pool on the Endrick with the Blane running in from the left.
But it probably isn't.

Whiteadder perhaps?
The fish took in the V about 5 to 10 yards above the bush...

Right here we go! The main carrier is the Tweed up at Drumelzier and the wee burn is the Broughton Burn. The old guy with the grey hair in the picture is Very nice man from here ;D ;D and the fish was caught right in the meeting point. Send the money to my PP account please Disclaimer: the above description of the angler are not nessesarily those of the Author and have merely been uttered/picked up by others in his company in the past

Whiteadder, the fish took in that kick of current just below the bush and the angler is Mike Shepley?

Graham and TyneAndrew have it pretty well sussed, Good guess Kenny, but no bubble float !It is the Whiteadder - the Monynut Pool named after the burn that joins below the tree. The salmon took here in the neck of the pool - literally first cast for ..... Mike Shepley, friend and producer of Paul Young;s first Hooked Series, ex Rod&Line honcho, and a good fishing host. The salmon, fairly coloured and returned without leaving the water .. .. took Mikes shrimp fly "nothing too bright" Mike walks home to Abbey St Bathans House (east wing) We don't believe in superstition no not at at all ... but we made sure to say hello to the gnome. No hello = no fish, so we said hello five times in the morning. A nice way to escape work for a day in October 2011. TC
