Hello chaps, long time no see! Hope you are all keeping well and have had a good season. I've hardly picked up a fishing rod this year, the pictures below are the nearest I've got to a salmon this year! Hopefully next season I'll get a bit more action. So name the river and, for a bonus point, pick out the one and only good spawning site in this first picture. There's a fish somewhere... ... there it is. Andy

Good to hear from you again Andy. How about the upper reaches of the Tyne?

The water looks clear enough to be from the Barle above Simonsbath.
Glad your internet has been reconnected Andy. ;D

Cant be right, but could easily be mistaken for our local home of giant Salmon and sea trout, the river Bervie.
Cheers

Welcome back Andy - we really missed you stunning photography.
I'm having difficulty deciding if that's a lowland Scottish or an English landscape.
The Exe ? ;D

River Barle
Spawning site is at upper end of the picture, along the conifer trees

Welcome back Andy, great pics as usual. I aint got a clue what river it is, Exe maybe. As for the spawing, straight over the stump, below that big stone.

Thanks chaps It is indeed the Barle above Simonsbath in the heart of highland Zumerset! Tyne Andrew is spot on. Every year, no matter how poor the run of fish, half a dozen grilse and one or two pairs of salmon spawn up by the conifers. Andy
