With a lot of interest being shown in the large Salmon caught on the Ness at the weekend does anyone know if the record Tay fish was preserved and if so where? Also how about any other record freshwater fish in Britain, I believe there is a 38lb ferox somewhere around loch Awe, are there any others?

I'd rather have a Fochabers' fish or even a half fish. Unfortunately they fetch silly money at auction.

I have seen several "copies" of Ms Ballantines fish. I think a copy may be in the fishing section at Borders Gunroom - not far from yuo Tweedie. ( I think its Ms Bs fish, if not it is a very big fish anyway)

Thanks for the answer robbie and salmo. I am well familiar with The Borders Gunroom, alas my eyes are fixed on the display of classic british guns when I enter these portals but will pay due attention on the next visit.

Was in Norrises today and a saw cast of MsBallantynes fish. A member of staff said that there were 12 casts made of the fish, So highly likely to be seen around several venues.
