I see Menzies Campbell has resigned . A victim of an ageist society or too patrician a character for 21stC politics.
A really stimulating thread to kick the week off ;D ;D ;D
I go for the second.

Resigned or pushed?
He did seem to lack the charisma needed for success in this media driven world.

I see Menzies Campbell has resigned . Crikey , that was quick! I was listening to a debate about him at 1730 and the old f*rt's gone by 1800.

A sad day in some ways as he is a really likeable fellow and was superb as a shadow minister but did not have the charisma as leader in the medias eyes. He was probably pushed out by one of his more ambitious supporters.
Anyhow look on the bright side - he has just signed up on salmon fishers so he will make a great admin now that he has all that time on his hands ;D ;D ;D

might be ok in admin but no good as an advisor can you imagine the answers an ex msp would give eg. question: what fly would you reccommend for low water answer: its not a matter of water or fly but why are you fishing

His answer would be more like "well that depends on whether the fish are running, resting or just pausing to ask for directions!" ;D ;D ;D ;D salmo

Glad to hear you've moved on and cast your line in a different direction. When young or as a student I am sure many of us have done some right old jobs, some fun and others best forgotten, but I hope you do not descend to being a politician.
