This is a mozzie deterrent which may be useful to anyone planning on paying them a visit. A course of Vitamin B Complex for about 2/3 months in advance?! Do you happen to have your own special recipe/deterrent which you are willing to share? highlandfisher

DEET is the stuff.
They may land on you, and if in sufficient numbers, you may even breath them in, but they won't bite.
50% solution for exposed skin, 100% for cap/hat, sleeves, collar etc.

Hello Mike.... while doing a google search and reading up on DEET (powerful stuff) I came across this cure. I wonder if anyone on the board has tried it? - Click!..Don't Scratch - Price: £5.50 (Including VAT at 17.5%) Quantity: Just "Click" the bitten area for instant relief from insect bites. Too good to be true? No! We've tested this wonderful gadget on ourselves and on a variety of insect victims - it really does work. The tiny piezo-electric shock stops itching and reduces swelling. No battery required. (Not recommended for epileptic patients or those wearing a heart pacemaker). - www.safariquip.co.uk/acatalog/Insect_Repellent.html#aROSCLIC00

Take it from one who lives in the land of mosquitos, if anything else worked we would use it. DEET works nothing else does. It is a permanent fixture in my fishing vest, with backup bottles in fishing bag and truck. All the stories of homemade potions, electronic gadgets etc. are made up by mosquito organizations to help their brothers get a free meal. ;D

The stuff I used there in addition was OK, smear it on over exposed skin areas, and under any areas with only one layer in evening/night, smelled like lemons, .... ....only to discover after around 2 years of using it, having run out of things to read, I discovered that the label on the big tub included the words... ...."Recommended for Horses Only" !!! Nay, I said, Nay....!!! ;D ;D ;D Mike
