Thanks and God bless you all Geoff Hi Geoff, The Stinger GLX is a nice light rod. Don't know of any for sale but I did hear of a 12ft6" 8/9 G Loomis Stinger Alta 3 piece that might be coming up for sale. It is in pristine condition. It caught a fish on its first outing Let me know if you want me to make enquiries?

I am currently in negotiations for a Stinger but the gentleman who has the rod is proving to be more difficult to move than my long term haemorrhoids. If you could make provisional enquiries then I would be interested in the Alta. I do currently have a 13ft NRX which is a joy to chuck. This is rated at 8/9 32g which is the same rating as the Alta. I am however interested. I have a spooky fixation with rods that appears to be altogether most unhealthy This new forum format is a bit of a bloody nightmare using an iPad.

You must have some amount of rods by now. I think it is infectious. I just picked up a 13ft 8/9 NRX in a sale in Norway last week. Are you using it with a spey line or shooting heads? Any recommendations would be appreciated

I am using it with heads at the moment. I have just picked up a 550 grain Skagit Flight also which it copes with very well after a bit of casting adjustment. The ideal for me will be a full set of heads in kit form at 34g. The Loomis Greased Line heads that I have for my 14ft Stinger and 15ft NRX are bloody wonderful but sadly discontinued which is a great pity. Loomis have some more due out soon but they are slow on the uptake. I have tinkered with Vision Ace heads in the past but they are extremely light for their stated weight.
