***CHANNEL UPDATE***
Folks, A massive thanks you for all the support and great feed back from our latest show. It's great to here from people not just from the UK, but from as far away as New Zealand and Alaska.
We know our shows are not perfect, but as we love what we do, we will strive to improve our offering with every show going forward, along with investing in new technology & equipment. With our second Tay show having over 2,000 views in just a few days [58% of which are from the UK and 9.8% female], it is encouraging to see a decent proportion of female viewers taking an interest in fishing as well as new-comers to the sport.
On our You Tube channel we are proud to be averaging just short of 12,000 viewers per month across the channel and more than doubling the figure across our cross channel networks. Given the average circulation of most traditional form of media, this puts us in a very strong position within the market. This also will only increase as time goes on, with our subscription rate averaging out at over 150 new subscribers every month.
On that note, contrary to the defamatory remarks that have been circulating within certain small groups in relation to viewing figures. We do not and never will purchase any views for our channel. Admittedly, we did make that mistake at the start and quickly found out that this was completely worthless. Additionally with You Tube now being more proactive in wiping this practice out, it is quite simply too risky for anyone considering this practice and indeed counter productive, this also applies across all our viewing sources. There are many free resources on the web to check stats out for any You Tube Channel for the purposes of transparency.
For the commercial aspect of our business, we do provide a comprehensive online media pack prior to any contractual agreement with sponsors/advertisers for the purposes of informed choice. We are unable show full stats publicly on our own you tube channel due to the fact that our music is copyright (which we have a license for). When using copyright music you tube restricts the publicity of statistics for licensing reasons. For clarification, you can find full details of this online as well as the new you tube fake view filter at:-https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/jh5XW4WL3bo
We would also like to say a BIG thank you to our various sponsors who have been incredibly supportive, and who have helped make this all possible. In return it is great to hear their own positive feedback with regards to the increase in business on the back of our shows. Particularly when sizable orders are coming from overseas.
I personally would like to say a big thank you to the Hooked UK team for the effort and support they have put in over the series so far. After what was an extremely challenging year in 2013, they have had a major part to play with the continuation of the project into series 2. As such we look forward to the many years of production in front of us.
For those of you with Super Fast Broadband, you can also catch our shows in super high definition on our Vimeo Channel where there is also no adverts. We will of course will continue to publish our HD offering on You Tube going forward and unlike before will not be phasing this out and moving solely to Vimeo. Click the link below to see the difference.
We have lots of exciting work in the pipeline at both home and overseas with 2015 already shaping up with what will be first class fishing in great locations.
And finally on that note, we ran a competition in the last few weeks re one of the locations we are filming next year. Surprisingly only one person out of over 50 responses got it correct. Well done to Colin McCrory, you were the only one that got it. For those of you who pretty much guessed everywhere else, the correct answer is 'GREENLAND' Well done Colin!
Anyway, thats enough from me, the show must go on!
Catch the next show out later this month.
Tight Lines,
Greig
