Some of you may remember me from years ago on this forum...... Hope you are all keeping well? I have now moved near Hexham in Northumberland and have not picked up a rod for over 5 years.
As I am now over 50 yrs old (abbbreviations just to annoy Willy Gun!! P.S, How is xmas?) my eyesight is not what it was and I know that fly tying is never going to be a big thing for me ever again.
I have a lot of tying equipment which has done nothing for 5 years. I wish to sell it, but have no idea of 2nd hand worth etc etc.Is their anyone local here who would be prepared to come and give me an idea of worth ? Or may be interested in buying it anyway?
Look forward to hearing from you Robbie P.S. Best wishes to tippy, Speyducer and Salmo

Hi Robbie, 50 you say? That gives you years on Willie Gunn I'd say! Sorry to hear that you have no time for fishing anymore. Life changes for all of us, usually in very unpredictable ways, so my advice is get shot of the fly tying gear and keep the rods! Sorry I cannot help with pricing it for you, but I am sure someone will know the value. Good luck with whatever you set your sights on in the future.

I think that you may find that if you break the stuff down as much as possible into small lots you will get far more for it than if you sell it as a job lot. If you itemise what you have and then check out some of the retailers to see what they are currently asking for the stuff you have it might provide you with at least a starting point. Good luck with everything and I hope it works out for you. www.silversalmon.co.uk

Hi guys, Just went into the garage to see what i actually had and it scared me to death!!! I have got loads of stuff. I think I will try to put it into some sort of order and and take photies for you guys. Although i have not picked up a rod for 5 years i will keep my main rods and reels but will certainly rationalise on everything else. I now live 100 yrds from the North Tyne and have joined the village stretch (300 yrds only for £60 per annum) so maybe get my Mojo back! Great to see folks like Graham Ritchie, Rob Mason and my old buddies on here are still contributing quality stuff best wishes Robbie

Why don't you sell the whole lot, rather than leaving it in the garage, and donate to Help for Heroes. Whole I cannot claim to be a hero myself, as a former Royal marine I can tell you that you wouldn't be putting your proceeds to a better cause. All the best Adipose

Good to hear from you Robbie, been a long time. I believe that the Nith and Ettrick still have restraining orders in force against us. Putting some of your gear up for sale here might work toward buying some really good specs. Then you can carry on tying flees, yes? When you get back on that track, work on building up your mojo again. Trust me, it can be done. (Tell him I'm right 'Tip)
