Sunny Ayrshire has not been the place to be for salmon angling lately, have tied some Flame Thrower variants in anticipation of some rain next week.

Nice looking flees. Judging by the lack of reports on this forum we are all eagerly anticipating some rain.

A handsome set of flies. The blue one is very unusual.

The blue one was my daughters idea, it has not had a swim yet I will let you know if has any success. I remember Davie McPhail tying an Icelandic pattern called the Nagli on his web page. It was a blue fly tyed spey style using white eared pheasant dyed teal blue and kingfisher blue for the hackles it was a realy nice looking fly.

Me too Burnie. Spent a fair of time this morning looking at 3 wee stones on the Finavon Castle camera. How it looks tonight at 7pm will govern all plans for tomorrow. It's what's happening further up the glen's that will really mater.
How did you get on last week "down the bottom end" ?
Apologies for slight thread digression.

There will be a lot of ghillies wondering where their pools have gone this week. This storm will have shifted a large amount of gravel and washed away banks and paths.
