A very tranquil scene. Which beat is it Kenny, down Fishponds way by any chance or nearer to home? Roy.

Thanks Kenny. I should have known that, Jim Last had me down for an early morning cast before strimming in the summer months many moons ago. The tree lined bank looked quite similar to my old stamping ground at Upper Redgorton, hence the guess. Tight lines for Saturday. Roy.

Was fishing just upstream of this boat mooring at Lower Redgorton on the opposite bank earlier this week. Despite the low water fish were motoring through. Some very nice big seatrout splashing about as well.

I am a bit further up again this coming Saturday Mel. Opposite Stanley mills. The club call it Upper Scone beat. Not a lot get caught during the summer months down there, but worth a day on it to get out the house.
As always there are or should be fish passing so its up to me to get a fly in front of them.

I am a bit further up again this coming Saturday Mel. Opposite Stanley mills. The club call it Upper Scone beat. AKA Pitlochrie and Benchil beats on alternate days of the week. Can be confusing down there. I'll be further up river. Good luck Kenny.

Tight lines Kenny and Andy. Hopefully you'll connect with something.Seems to be a few about just now.
I'm fishing the Upper Don on Saturday at Kildrummy. Fingers crossed this flood we got yesterday drops quickly. Might just be in the right place at the right time for a change!

Good luck to you too Andy. May I ask where your headed? I will let a few past me Kenny For various reason I didn't make it out to the river til 4pm.I as allocated Guay for the remainder of the day. Guay. First run down I hooked a lovely fish circa 14lbs. The fly was a Kinermony Killer (tied by JRs own fair hand). The set up was A Guideline 3D (float / hover / inty) with a 10' fast sinking poly. Fished til dusk. A few showing but no more takers - not to worry. Lacking a decent turle knot - I know.

Cracker right enough Andy and very well done. My day went like this: My Day on the river was won by a ballot on the Upper Scone fishings (Opposite Stanley) through the club I joind this year [Perth Angling Club] and was looking forward to the day. On arrival I found no defined path from teh South side of the river to the water. However after nearly killing myself half sliding half hanging onto branches I managed to get down to Ground Zero, only to find a Mill lade between me and the rivers edge, which meant a rather tiresome detour via Dunkeld it felt like. The river was very coloured from I suspected the isla and I gave up after a short while of being frustrated by my antics to get to the river and of course the conditions that were really more suited to Spinning than watching my fly pass downstream faster than Usan Bolt.
