I think we can declare this site has well and truly had it, shame, but I'll not bother anymore.

Still flogging a dead horse here......................... No fishing at all this year, I wound up in Ninewells hospital to have a golf ball sized tumour removed from one of my kidneys, latest CT scan shows I'm still clear of cancer and hope to do some "easy" Cod fishing from the local harbours this winter if I can still cast that is. Fully intend to celebrate my birthday early next year still trying to catch my first Spring Salmon.

Yes, Burnie. An occasional visitor whereas I used to be daily. So sad that the site has apparently died. It holds such a wealth of information.
Sorry to learn of your difficulties. Best wishes on a return next season.

Well despite me saying I'd had enough of talking to myself, I'm back for more..............................stubborn the other half tells me, no idea what she means lol. Looking at booking somewhere for another go at a Springer, no idea where just yet, just scouring fishpal at the moment, I enjoyed my day on the Tay in 2021, so might give that river a go, though the more local rivers may also get a visit. Still might have to have further surgery as after removing the cancer they also found a kidney stone that has to come out, why they didn't do both at the same time kind of defeats me, but it may get in the way of fishing again. Hope some other visitors to the forum will get involved again, I do go on the "other Salmon forum", but this one seems to have more "local anglers"

Well glutton for punishment I 'll try again, firstly there will be no Spring fishing as I am due back in hospital again next week, thankfully nothing to do with Cancer this time, which my latest scan apparently still shows I'm clear. Hopefully recovered in time for Grilse and Sea Trout fishing by then.

Does someone actually pay to keep this site going? It was great in its day. A treasure trove of information from helpful and friendly members. I might be mistaken but it seemed to die when the photo bucket fiasco started. I still come over here, usually if I'm about to fish a new beat and I can cross reference with what Graham Ritchie had to say π

I use this site as a reference site, loads of information, I presume facebook has killed the site off, but then found a lot of familiar names on the other site, so I pop into both daily. I won't be fishing for a while as I'm due for more surgery this coming week, but will post a report as and when I'm fit again.

Hope your surgery goes well. Like you I look in most days, but never any new posts.

Yes the changes to photobucket made it more difficult to post photos.

Just visiting for the first time in ages and responded to a post from Andy on the subject of 'old farts' creaking (very seldom) on river banks. Have to admit to using facebook now. Took me half an hour to get in here because I could barely remember my user name let alone my password. Can still type though not as fast as I was once able. Old age doesn't come easy.

I don't use FB but your right, it appears to be that's the way things have developed. Too much scrolling every time the phone beeps !! Drive you daft !
The Photobucket thing fecked it for me as posting pics added the extra dimension so to speak. Hey-ho.

You can still attach photo's, I've added one or two, but we did lose those early ones, that wasn't the fault of the forum, that was photo bucket.
