OK embarrassing question. Just want to clear up a point before I go fishing. I received the beat descriptions, and tips on where to fish from. But the left hand bank from which direction? Facing up or downstream? And is the answer universal for all rivers?

Hi Shedhead, Looking downstream on all rivers. Single Spey off the right bank often sorts the men out from the boys................... ;D Ah - looks like I'm too slow for you Andrew............

Very true, it was a very fair question though as I remember when it confused me in my earlier days
