My son's invited to fish the River Garry near Invergarry at the beginning of May - could anybody give him/me advice as to what kit he will need? He can't Spey cast, but can overhead throw a fly (like father like son).
Like every other fisherman I have enough gear to set up a tackle shop of my own and am just getting into Salmon fishing myself (see previous postings!) So it would be good to put some of it to some use - But if he beats me too it and catches his first Salmon before I do....

i have never fished the garry dont think it is very wide so a 14' 15' salmon rod floating line and the usual supects ally's cascade stoats tail etc should cover everything and a trout rod for the sea trout after dark 4lb cast and a wee silver stoat should do the trick good luck to him and yourself.
