Now that's what you call a fishing hut....... Have to say though, if I had a hut only half as glamorous my catch returns would certainly be lower but my waist measurement and whisky intake much much higher........................... Great Photo's Dave and I hope you get a fish or two if and when you get out of the hut...............

Sorry for the crappy picture, but here is a sea trout from the sands last year with the gauge at four foot plus . I had just lost a big salmon in the high teens that we suspect was foul hooked..It was certainly heading for Aberlour at speed. It was the first time I had seen the beat at that height. It was Monday and the river fell back all week giving us different water every day- a great week..

Lovely looking beat, and it's the first time I've seen a fitted kitchen in a fishing hut!

Slightly influenced by taking a springer from it last year though
Photo 19 is Simons favourite ;D

A report from last year - I have been fishing this beat for four years now in August. It is one of God's special places- Private and beautiful and full of some of the best fly water on the planet. The Bridge Pool at Carron was used in Falkus's Salmon Fishing as the example of perfect fly water, and I know why. My first ever. Looking downstream from the hut, -2" on the gauge. I will always be biased towards Carron because it gave me my first ever Salmon in August 2004, a lovely 5.5lb sea-liced Grilse. After landing that fish, with my heart still doing 180 beats per minute, I waded back in and immediately hooked another, which fell off after 30 seconds. The pool, the bottom on the beat, called Delchapel, still has me grinning from ear to ear every time I fish it and continues to deliver for me, including two perfect sea-licers this year. A nice grilse from Delchapel 2007 ( one of three caught on the Monteith mult-tip which I christened that week) And a tiddler from the same pool. Delchapel a 12lber from Delmunach, 2006 2007 was especially good. Carron excels in high water and the owners are obviously in luck- It seems to rain every Sunday at the moment giving Carron high, dropping water every Monday- The last few weeks have produced 31,23,16 and 19 fish to five rods.. On our week we lost the Monday to high and rising water ( 4ft and flying up) But I went for a fish anyway and hooked a big salmon that got off - It was at least high teens- It jumped three times right in front of me and the Ghillie-, although there was some speculation that it might have been hooked in the jacket and landed a 3..5lbs sea-trout. The next morning I landed three and lost two more in two hours- 12lb, 6.5lbs, 4lbs and had a 2lb micro-grilse in the same pool in the evening. I also had two more sea-trout of 2-3lbs each. I had just returned from Russia at this point and the fishing in Scotland so far had been as good if not better! Then they started falling off... Wednesday lost 1, landed 1, Thursday lost 1, Friday lost 4 landed 1, Saturday lost two, landed 1. Time heals all wounds. A great week.
