Here is an easy one. What is this famous Scottish salmon river? I was passing by this week, and , boy, was it windy and cold. Looking out to sea. Looking inland. VC

Can't remember the name, but is it the river featured in the dvd, salmon living on the edge (or something similar)?
edit - changed my mind, the hills aren't high enough!

I'll give you a clue. They ran a little drift netting station here until 1992. Their record was 979 salmon in a single day in 1952, which they wheeled up the cliff in a wheel-barrow to the ice house.
I worked here for a summer as a student in 1988. We had seal-damaged salmon or sea trout home with us for tea 3 or 4 times a week. Like many Scottish rivers, the numbers went down, and the nets were stopped.

Naver it is. Too easy Conwyrod.
(I thought the convention was that those who know the answer left the others with it for a while!!)

Ah the Naver. My family used to take the long run up the old A9 from Fife to stay in a caravan in Bettyhill for week's summer holidays. !976,77,78 I was amazed by the huge pods of fish you could see swimming past the netting stationa nd indeed he amounts of fish in the nets. I did cast a fly of a trout nature in the estuary but caught nothing. Ah happy pre-teen days
