Has anyone sourced a cheap supply of Loop hooks? hornets friend seems to the most competitive £5.95. Only ask as the Loops are the only hooks not to have anything negative said about them. Are the Loop doubles too short in the shaft for a beginner to tie on? Should i start with somthing more traditional? Just found Fishtec/Tightlines sell them for £5.45 or £4.90 if you joined their club. But only in 4 6 and 10s

The cost of Loop hooks is relatively modest considering their capabilities.
I use Loop doubles for nearly all my tubes and they last for years. Occasionally they need replacing if the fly gets wedged in rocks or hits a cliff behind. Otherwise they seem to last forever.
The hooks have great hooking power. It feels like 80% or more of fish stay on once hooked. I lost one great fish last year which took 10yds of line at the first contact and then turned in to me and then got off. The hook was crushed sideways on which is rare for a Loop double.
