This may well prove too easy for some, but it's a nice place to look at. Good luck.

I thought for a brief moment it might have been the West Water but it's too big.

Is it? It's not, you know. I was right - too easy. Ho hum, must try harder.

Oddly enough I have only been to that spot once and it was many, many years ago - it's funny how you can remember certain things and others not. If memory serves, there's a lovely little pool just below this - very narrow with a gorge like feel to it.

If memory serves, there's a lovely little pool just below this - very narrow with a gorge like feel to it. There is a nice pool just beneath this but it's only accessible from the South side. The north side, where I am allowed to fish, is a vertical claystone cliff and one would need abseiling gear to do any damage there. The Westwater didn't have a great season. Like many local rivers the grilse run failed to show up almost entirely and I only had limited success on the river this year. I'm hopeful that 2012 will be better.

The "claystone cliff" sounds familiar. If it's the same pool I'm thinking about, I saw a couple of nice sea trout come off it one night.
