Christmas Competition I am prepared to put up a small prize, probably alcoholic. Name the reels, start top left Row 1 then row 2 and so on. Graham will be the judge; in the event of two people getting them all right, there will be a decider on guessing the lines.

I will donate a bottle of Glenfarclas 10year old. I will now leave it to the management on how to enter, closing date 31/12/07 just before the draw?

I'll get the ball rolling - the one in the middle is definetly a fishing reel. I have also spotted an Abu 6500 sports mag just out of shot.
4th row down second reels in from left or right I like the best as they are shiny and have the most holes in.

There appears to be an odd one out in the bottom row ....... how untidy!

I take it you are referring to the 'Perfect' John ? I used to use the 3 5/8" with a SH Hardy Stillwater 12' #6. A tad heavy by todays standards but nevertheless a versatile outfit and truly 'classic' reel IMHO.

Perfect, Marquis, ? but looks like a Hardy, Youngs, Hardy JLH, Hardy Golden JLH. I also have a 3 5/8 Perfect, left hand wind, bought in mint condition on Ebay. Nice reel for the sea trout.

I stand corrected John. It never clicked that the Young's was the odd man out and I, foolishly, went only by cosmetic appearances - could have been the basis of an excellent riddle there ! Regards STip ... a cracking brace of sea trout BTW

Regards STip ... a cracking brace of sea trout BTW Taken from the Esk ....... the Border Esk that is ....... a few years ago. If I had known then that the Solway sea trout runs were soon to collapse so dramatically, I would not have taken them.

John do you have a close up of that reel? Here you are, Malcolm. Would I be correct in thinking that this model would date from the late seventies/ eighties?

Early 80's was about the time I purchased mine John - seems like a million years ago now . Still a cracking wee reel though
