The word is that it is raining at Shap, FINALLY. A lift for the Lune seems not beyond the realms of possibility. If it gets windy too I might get my favourite autumn dish which is of course leaf soup. I care not for my river may just lift enough to shift the big red dirty fish out of the deep hole below Arkholme Viaduct and bring in some fresh silver specimens for me to entice with a SEDUCTIVE (don't you gotta love it) fly pattern or two. www.silversalmon.co.uk

Hope you get enough rain to lift the river and your spirits and perhaps if you are really lucky bring some fresh fish in to the river. We are waiting with bated breath up here in the north east for something similar !

I was on the Lune today for a mock assessment for my assessment proper which is in less than 2 weeks. The river looks bloody awful and is in a real sorry state. On a brighter note the Eden is in full spate. With only 12 days remaining until the lights go out it may be too late to get the numbers up on the club waters along the Eden. It should however get the fish moving and hopefully spruce them up to make lots of jiggy jiggy with other salmon. www.silversalmon.co.uk

Kerry my dear, if Mr and Mrs Salmon can swim upwards of 6000 miles to get back to the Lune and do bit of wild thang then St Helens to Scotland is a mere bus ride. Pucker up lady, you've pulled www.silversalmon.co.uk
