What sort of damage has all that water done to the future stocks of fish in the Dee combined with this last years poor season and the damage done to the redds it dose not look good. Hears hopping there is a very good run of fish in 2016 to help the river recover from this.I would expect big changes to the pools around Commonty and sluie where they just removed all those Croys in the summer.

Crazy weather, we had a flood warning on Boxing day but thankfully the rain stopped. The Deeside floods look staggering, hopefully they haven't washed out redds and destroyed pools. Or has spawning been delayed by the warm weather?

Looks like 'round 2' (or should that be 3 ?) on the way. Relentless here in Tayside / Angus. The Esk's look to be filling up again.

The rain has been almost non stop for the last 36 hours up this way and is forecast to keep going until Tuesday. Looks like the Dee is taking another battering and this time it is also hitting the Don, Ythan, Ugie and Deveron.

The South Esk hasn't reached Thursday's level yet but it's on the rise. The Deil's Steen is under water again. Means bad news for the Airlie family. Looking down stream from Cortachy Bridge, there's a tree hanked up on the stone. Shielhill Bridge. Not often the White Burn flows almost straight into the Esk. The bridge at Cortachy home farm.

Thanks for the pics John. I was hoping to get 'out and about' myself for a look - but no. I'm just wondering if we are likely to have a track down to the Careston hut. I would imagine no beats will have been left unscathed.

My thoughts are with all those poor people who are bearing, and continue to bear, the brunt of this weather.

Thanks for the pics Kenny. Looking at Tony Andrews Finavon Castle facebook page, the suspension bridge just upstream from the hut has been severely damaged.

The Southie level has dropped a wee bit today. There was a landslide on the Prosen last year that took the track into the river with it. More damage has been caused by all this water. This was taken on Sunday. And here is the same part of the river today. Notice the road will need some work and part of the bank has fallen in to the river. This land slide caused a lot of colour in the Southie last season.

I hear the new improved Dalguise hut has collapsed. Seen this pic today Andy of the Dalguise Hut. Craig was telling me last night, that 15 of the 17 Ballogie estate huts on the Dee have been lost to the Floods.

Will be a few mores one up and down the river off the back of this flood too I'd imagine.

The bridge that has collapsed on the southie, is that the one you park at when you fish the dairy and laundry pools?

Andy will the main Cortachy fishing hut have been affected with these floods? I'm fairly certain the Downiepark hut at The Drain would have had a few inches of water going through it. I dont think The Meetings Hut will have suffered due to it's height off the ground but the carparking area would have been well covered. What effect all of this has had on the pool itself s anyone's guess - might be better !! The hut at Ben Hoose would have been unaffected as most of the water would have gone towards the low lying fields on the opposite bank. The 'lairds hut' at The Corner Pool may very well have been affected by any 'leakage' from the Graveyard travelling across the haugh. I'll try to take a wander down there at some point to see what's what. Good to see rivers starting to resemble river's again, and not loch's.
