Thanks is that just suction cups for putting in glass with a bit of thread bar through the middle. Bit harsh, it is a little more than that. Suction cups, drilled with an adjustable metal bar, attached. The elastic is carefully measured to ensure rods cannot slip out but and not too tight to cause damage. The metal bar is carefully covered in soft material that cyclists use on handle bars

I use the Richard Wheatley suction locking ones on my glass roof. They work well and don't mark the glass.

Jimmy, I'd second WG's recommendation for the ones based on glazier's grips (though I see he's got the de luxe blue ones, rather than bright orange ones like mine!).
I had a pair of Wheatley ones which gave good service for a number of seasons, but eventually the rubber base of one got scratched and the vacuum became unreliable. Not being a DIY'er, I got a pair similar to WG's from a gillie last spring which were competitively priced compared to either the Wheatley or Vac Rac ones. They served me very well for the rest of last season, and I have to say I do like the reassurance of having twin grips on each holder, so they should still hold even if one fails.

Just check that the the three suckers will grip onto the car and the roof! Unfortunately cars are curved and the glazier suckers prefer straight panels. Which is why the bar rotates allowing the suckers to sit in line on my bonnet rather than across it. I would imagine getting three all to grip would be a nightmare.

Was given a pair the same as W.G.s several years ago and have never had any problems with them. Can get the 2 suckers to stay on the bonnet but only one on the roof because of the curve. Bob

I made a pair of double suction glazier type holders and to be honest they did not work on my car due to: 1. Curvature or the bonnet and roof 2. The thinness of the bonnet in particular, that necessitated a good hard push down on the bonnet. Along with a "too powerful" suction, that looks like it would pull the thin material up into the cups leaving a distorted mark. These might suit older thicker, flatter, bodied motors, but watch out on the newer motors! These are the ones I made.
