I fish (two times) In Ester Elchies , the third week of August. I have fished also, for tow times, in Cairnton Dee, an other corner of paradise.
I'm a beginner!

Those are two fine stretches of water, no finer places to learn. Best of luck with your trips there this season.

I also have just joined but have been reading the forum avidly for a couple of weeks. I’m a novice a salmon fishing; I tried it a couple of times in South Norway 18 months ago but despite seeing many dratted fish just a couple of yards away (we were only 200 yards from the estuary mouth) I never even got a sniff let alone a nibble! Since then I have been reading Falkus et al and hope that this literature, along with advice from this forum will help me to catch my first salmon/grilse on the Findhorn in early July. I am also keen to try tying salmon flies and am just waiting for the postman to bring me some bucktails so I can get started!

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be fishing the Findhorn about 9½ miles from the mouth (I don't know exactly the name of the area but the beats are about 3½ miles long and about 25 minutes drive from Lochindorb). I'm currently in North Dorset and my fishing so far has been for wild brownies. I try and tie trout flies but I'm still a beginner. The goal is to tie the salmon fly that catches me my first salmon/grilse!
