Hi Blackie - welcome to The Salmon Fishing Forum and thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. I know the Tay and Tummel well but most the Earn remains uncharted territory for me - which is a bit embarrassing considering its geographical proximity.
Don't s'pose you much about the Teith by any chance ?
Anyhow, hope you can benefit (as we all have) from the forum. regards STip

A salmon fisher of the Towy, Cothi, Teify. Retiring back there soon and looking forward to reacquainting myself with those rivers.
Some of you might know me from another Forum.
p.s. I am Willie Gunn's counsellor on diplomacy and tact.

Hello to all, new to the forum. I am from Newfoundland Canada and thought I would take a peek and see what I can learn from the other side of the Atlantic. Great forum here and I will certainly be trying some of the fly patterns listed.

Hi All, a new member from South-East of Ireland. I mainly fish the Suir, Blackwater and Colligan but daydream about fishing many others! Have fished the fly only for the last four years and tie all my own flies for the last three. Thats me in a nut shell, have visited site before, found it a great source of advice but havent posted both due to time constraints (young family, work, etc) but have also felt that I mightn't have something worthwhile to say especially among some of the really experienced company to be found here. Tight lines to all

Hello irishsalar - thanks for taking the trouble and time to introduce yourself. As a fly tyer why not post an SBS or two of some Irish patterns ? Failing that, a simple fotie 'o yer flee box would suffice. Again, welcome to '74. regards STip

Many thanks guys for the welcome, will try and add a few posts from an Irish perspective from time to time. Will also look into how to upload a few photos (on dial-up so not sure how effective it will be) as I would love to hear any comments on choice of patterns or style.
