If you were going to buy a week's salmon fishing in any part of the UK what would be your dream beat? Name the river, the beat and the time of year salmo

Make that 2 rods then Dave. Either that, or an October rod on Tweed at Upper Floors would do nicely.

Yes, room for 2 more I think- count me in too! Otherwise, with "there is more to fishing than catching fish" in mind put me down for a week in May at Crathie and late July at Drynachan

Never fished the Spey so can't say. Morphie Dyke on the North Esk is one i have always wanted to get a cast on but first choice would need to be the Junction Pool on the Tweed. Prime time of course Cheers Hornet

Elbow room only @ Delfur! This, and perhaps Arndilly, and a few other Spey beats too.... of course, end April into May, with the spring fish in numbers & keen for the fly! Mike

Yes, room for 2 more I think- count me in too! Phew just squeezed in for the 5th rod by the look of it. Don't worry, the first 4 rods can have the Ghillies, I'll just look after myself If they have been taken, I wouldn't mind a week on the Kharlovka

Since I've fished Delfur (only once in April 2002 for 3 days, had a nice springer) and most of the lower Spey, would love to try the really pretty beats on the middle river, so would be...
Spey, Knockando, second week in June. Late runs of big springers and a few sea trout in the evenings. Can't beat the Spey in late Spring/early Summer, sheer bliss.

Since all the Delfur rods seem to be taken, I suppose I'll have to slum it with Mike on Arndilly and just hope that the river is running high.

Wester Elchies, Spey. It looks like a fabulous bit of well managed, conservation conscious and gentlemanly led piece of water - where isn't on the Spey ?
Failing this, Upper Murthly, Tay, April onwards.

Got to be Delfur, any time of the season would be a dream Failing that anywhere lower to mid Spey in April/May, Carron looks superb, especially when photographed by Speyvalley. Where is he by the way
