The North Esk began the week with three from Gallery, then nothing, guessing the water vanished, but I see the odd Sea Trout reported from other rivers, so you never know.

Hope you get resynchronised OK David. Garry at Kerckock is a fine lad - old school - although its been many a season since we dunked biscuits together.
I believe another lunker was landed last week at Insewan (by the same guy as had the lunker the previous week) at around 26lbs. Well done that man.

Two foot of water on both Esk rivers higher up , though the tributaries West Water and Prosen are dropping already. might lift a few fish into the rivers.

Sadly still got tubes inside me from the last operation in Perth last week, can barely manage a walk round the village just now, but on the mend, it'll be Grilse time I reckon for me.

Over four feet on both Esks this morning rained all night, might take a while to run off, but there should fish about. Light rain forecast until the weekend, then next week is bright and sunny.

I know they get a lot of Sea Trout, they used to do like a syndicate for the night fishing, no idea if they still do.

Four fish each from the Dee and the Tay, but the Tweed had a very good day with 13 fish, not heard of any from the Esks today.

For the number of rods out every day, on most rivers, the returns are very low. A sign of the times, unfortunately π‘.

A fish from Finavon Castle again, I wonder what the water quality is like as Surfers Against Sewage are reporting 14000 cases of raw sewage has been dumped in our rivers and only 10 percent are actually monitoring the overflows

These water companies are getting away with ruining our waterways, and know nothing will be done. I wonder if any water companies CEO fish in their pollution ridden rivers.

Catches seem to be dropping as the water drops, still water in the Tay, but not much to shout about.

I fished the lower water at Ballinluig some years back didn't get anything though, also fished nearer the town for the Grayling with not much luck either, I found the wading hard work on those big stones.

We fished Carlisle Anglers on the Eden last week. My fiancee lost 2 fish for which she was a little bit rattled. I lost one then managed to bank a half blind, half crazy hen fish of 14lbs which was cleaner than a cats arse. The pool in particular continues to produce results for me. The river is still fantastic and within comfortable driving distance both directions. The absolute cherry on the cake is that I can take my little doggie and she just sits and watches us both fish while occasionally chewing on a stick
